Frequently Asked Questions

  • I am a natural light photographer who loves to take pictures of families, big kids, little kids, babies, and your pets too.  I prefer shooting sessions both earlier in the morning and later in the afternoon when the sun casts its beautiful golden rays down on us, but if that is not possible, we can find another time too.

A session will include a mix of classic portraits and fun, creative shots. My eye is always looking for candid, authentic interactions and emotions so I strive to create an atmosphere where everyone is having fun so I can capture those moments for you.  I am also happy to include any ideas for photos you would like.

  • My sessions are all-inclusive, meaning you will receive a gallery of hand-edited digital images and a personal print release.  Please see pricing page for specific details. Digital images are made available via digital download.

I really want you to print and enjoy your pictures in your home.  If you prefer me to include prints of your session, I have additional print options too.

  • A deposit of $250 is due when booking to confirm your photo session time and day on my calendar. Please use the CONTACT FORMor email me at kerri@kerricalistriphotography.com.

I understand that things happen and you may need to reschedule your session.  You can reschedule your session up to 24 hours before the session date and your deposit will transfer over to your new date.  However, if you cancel and do not reschedule, you forfeit your deposit.  Cancellations or rescheduling must be submitted 24 hours before the session date or your deposit will be forfeited.

If you don’t show up for your appointment or you are more than 15 minutes late, your deposit will be forfeited and you must reschedule a new appointment and pay a new deposit.  Please let me know of any schedule changes or issues as soon as possible and I will try to be flexible and accommodate your needs.

As we know weather in New England can be unpredictable and because most photo sessions are outside, I may need to postpone or reschedule your session to make sure we are working with the most ideal conditions.  If weather issues arise, I will contact you as soon as possible and work out a new schedule and your deposit will still transfer.

  • After the session ends, I get so excited for you to see your pictures that you can expect me to post a sneak peek of at least one image on my Facebook page within 24 hours.  Your entire gallery will be available online on a password protected site to you within 2 weeks.

  • My thoughts on wardrobe choices:

    • Number one rule is everyone has to like what they are wearing as long as it is appropriate. Don't try to force ideas of the perfectly matched family if there are protests and tears, just try to get them to coordinate.

    • I'm not a fan of white shirts and jeans unless there are vests, scarves, hats and other accessories. Pictures are meant to be visually interesting and draw you in. Your eye easily scans the same palette and gets bored.

    • I love texture. Ruffles, sleeves, jackets or sweaters of any sort, down vests on boys and girls. Anything that again creates layers and depth.

    • Blues, greens, reds, and neutral colors and pastels are all good mixed with subtle pops of color, or stripes and plaids, etc.

    • No bright/neon colors as they can leave color castes on the skin.

    • If you have any questions or need anything, let me know. I love to help with everything involved with photos from start to finish and will happily send you ideas.

  • We are so lucky that we have so many local places to use. The spaces I use the most are Wellesley College, which has beautiful natural spaces and amazing architecture, Elm Bank Reservation, Wolbach Farm, a small farm in Wayland, and I will also happily come to your home or any other desired location if the natural daylight and space are appropriate for our needs. You can see examples of all these spaces on my portfolio page.
